Blogging is weird.

I mean think about it. It is a medium that can be used in various ways.
1) An online journal
2) A venting/rant spot
3) A great place to read awesome fiction. (Don't believe me? Do yourself a favor and check this out. Start at the oldest archive and enjoy!)
4) A place to meet people and make friends.

I recently accused my wife of becoming "one of those people". She had recently met up with one of her "blogging" buddies. Honestly I think that this is pretty cool. You meet people that you never would have had the opportunity to meet five years ago. But remember, not too long ago, if you met someone off of the internet, it was likely to be a dirty old man in a trench coat and brown socks. (Sorry that's just how I picture them).

And the journal aspect is pretty strange too. People write things on their blog that they would never tell you in person.

Yeah I have no idea where I am going with this. Apparently I to am under the influence of the "BLOG" and find the need to try to write an essay every time I post. Blah, blah, blah. So in conclusion I would like to say "Chicken Fart, Holy Moses, Bat Crap, FutherMucker and good night!"

Non-Compete Agreements Suck. We had a document handed to us yesterday at our Monthly Company Lunch meeting. It was breezed over by the HR Witch, who just said "These forms need to be signed and turned in by tomorrow." What the form entailed was a bunch of standard Non-disclosure - trade secret agreements. I am fine with those but down towards the end there was a statement regarding "Non-Compete". This states that you agree not to work in the industry that you are currently in for 1 year after leaving this company, whether fired or you quit. Well the industry that I am in is fairly specialized and I have been working in this industry for about 10 years now. I can't sign something that will tie my hands like that. I had one of these at the last job I had but it was nullified because the employer broke my contract. Anyway, the shit is going to hit the fan hard on this one. All of the sales people, product managers, technical people are refusing to sign this. We now have until the 25th of the month to turn this in. If we don't apparently we will be fired. It will be an interesting month. I will keep everyone posted.
