OK, OK, I haven't posted in awhile, sorry. So I have a question for everyone. Have you ever gone back and re-watched a movie or a TV show that you loved as a kid and realized that it sucked? I don't just mean it was bad or childish but it flat out SUCKED like a Hoover? Growing up I was a huge fan of the classic 80's cartoon like G.I. Joe, Thundercats, Masters of the Universe, etc. Now I happen to catch something on Cartoon Network and I see like 2 minutes and think to myself, "Self, this sucks". I can't belive I ever thought this crap was good stuff. And movies, I was telling my lovey wife, well you all know her name, about "Porky's". I mean when I last watched that movie, oh I don't know, in the late 80's it was SO DAMN FUNNY! Well we happed to run across the DVD for under $10 and I thought we would pick it up and have a few belly laughs for an evening. Well, no, that didn't happen. We watched about half and gave up. I was horrible. Now I know it was never great film making,but Damn it was funny. Wasn't it? Oh Well. I would love to hear from everyone about any experiences you have had with this same situation.

Does this mean I am getting old? Ah hell who am I kidding?

I think I want to talk about music today.I find it really interesting that so many types of different music can make you feel so many different ways. I think that the definition of music is anything that can make you feel. Some people will say "I don't listen to rap, that shit is not music" or "Country music is all about some guy's dead dog and his pickup sitting in the front yard". Now I think that everyone has the right to their own opinion but if a particular song/sound makes someone feel something, it is music. It really is interesting to me that people will not even give something a try because they "know" they will not like it. I say give it a shot. Go to your local record store and listen to something you would not have tried before. Give it a shot, what could it hurt? You just might find a gem.

What am I listening to right now? Good question, let me tell you.

There are other staples that are never far from my CD player: DMB, David Gray, Beatles, etc.

Anyway that is all for now. I kinda like this soapbox thing!

ps: Everything I said before about give anything a try goes out the window when Celine Dion or Sade is involved!
